You have a website. You know SEO is important. But you’re still nowhere to be found on Google.
SEO can seem complex, but often, the biggest problems are the most basic ones. You might be “invisible” to Google simply because you’re making one of these three fundamental (and very common) mistakes.
As SEO experts, here’s what we find wrong on 9 out of 10 new client websites.
Mistake #1: Your Page Titles are “Home” and “Services”
The “Title Tag” is the single most important piece of “on-page” SEO. It’s the blue, clickable headline you see in a Google search result.
A Bad Title: Home | My Company
A Good Title: Best Web Design Agency in Patna for Small Business | Grotica
The bad title tells Google nothing. The good title tells Google exactly who you are, what you do, and where you do it. If your titles are not descriptive, Google has no idea when to show your site to a potential customer.
Mistake #2: You Have No Content (Or “Thin” Content)
You have a beautiful “Services” page that just lists your services with 10 words each. You have no blog. Your “About” page is two sentences.
Google ranks answers to questions. If your website has no answers (i.e., no content), it has no reason to rank.
A competitor who has a blog with 20 useful articles (like this one!) is providing massive value and proving their expertise to Google. “Thin” content makes your site look like an empty, unhelpful pamphlet.
Mistake #3: Your Site is Technically a Mess
This is the “under the hood” problem you can’t see.
It’s Too Slow: Your high-resolution images are not optimized. Your code is messy. Your server is cheap. If your site takes more than 3-4 seconds to load, Google penalizes it, and users leave.
It’s Not Mobile-Friendly: It looks fine on your laptop, but it’s a jumbled, unreadable mess on a phone. Since Google is “mobile-first,” it primarily ranks your mobile site. A bad mobile experience = an invisible ranking.
This is where Grotica’s “IIT-Factor” is so critical. We build sites that are technically flawless, blazing-fast, and perfectly mobile-responsive from Day 1.
How to Fix It
Don’t panic. All of these are fixable.
Audit: Start by identifying all your weak title tags.
Plan: Develop a simple content strategy. What are your customers’ top 10 questions? Write blog posts answering them.
Optimize: Run your site through a speed test. Optimize your images.
Or, you could just have the experts do it.
Stop being invisible. Let’s get you on Page 1.
